State Border Cross Law Crosses Federal Law Line


Police surveillance holds Arizona at gunpoint
Battles power to entice immigrants to anoint
Broken system in federal law's jurisdiction
Licks the wounds of the hand's best fiction


At present puts legally present aliens at risk
Reasonable cause causes police to say "tsk tsk"
Patchwork of policy makes government seem quirky
Reasonable suspicion by those not listening births anarchy


It's fair to say this thing is out of hand before the fat lady sings
On the eve of destruction judge's instruction is babes and blings
Unprecedented resources sent by the feds for a problem to tackle
Stops for coffee and donuts as immigration law awaits its shackle


In case you haven't noticed this little poem gets longer and longer
As the fight between the Federal v State gets stronger and stronger
What once was a routine poem goes viral and gets way out of hand
As if Federal Traffic Violation Immigration laws spiral across this land


Can anybody stop the melee or is this thing just going to grow and grow?
In broader rulings than precedents allow immigration law looks like "Ho Ho"
Where are the messengers in senate and congress to tell of the effects of local life?
"Injunctions on the grounds" is all immigration law gets as Arizona police endure strife

Phantasmagonia: 
                            an "Ode to Groovy Mellow..."


It's the edge, the place where the wilderness meets brattiness
Lassie's lassitude greets the attitude of industrial cattiness
Merges of revelation where sensibilities reveal the uncivilized
Where the icons of woe dueling Ivanhoe are never trivialized


The beautiful composed, alive and well in the mind's eye
Meets chaos in proud isolation eating only his cherry pie
Lofty reserves of empty marbles in a monkey machine
Presented pretty calls attention away from ideal scene


Shimmers of lakes in moonlight is devotion to art
Pulses illusion to exalt and then reinvent the start
Courtships of the mind require etiquette so refined
With spells so easily broken, they render you blind


Imaginary daydreams present the beautiful and troubled
Signals influenced seize longings simmered and bubbled 
As reality dances its passionate urge for fancy residences
In fountained pools across the bay, where the evidence is


The hero is your mind, imagination a vibrant little fellow
The zero of the divine feels righteous and groovy mellow
Your best bet is a friend who brings along a slow wit
To water the ferns of your infernally poetical candles lit


At close range is really, for certain, where love dies
Voyagers wander the distance, search with bright eyes
Hoping to come upon forests of cool greens and blue
In reflecting waters and soft shimmers they find you
