Tropical Ghost Shadows

Aloha poets,
Light and ghost blue shadows in tropical palms offer a spooky beauty
of the halloween season, inspires today's poetry. Enjoy!

Nomadic Magic

Safari across lands where desert meets rainforest
Ply for more burden in support of the very poorest
Add to the fruition of once simple farmer and lands
Conglomerates ameliorate with imponderable hands

Art can be tardy in this america we chose
Perfect sand so quick sinks where it once rose
Fancy rhetoric pits on stumps "Its us against them"
Seems today markets will pay for even a cotton stem

Fertilizers of pesticide trucked out on texas fields
Black woman waves "good luck" china seeks yields
Eastern seaboard our government sets agricultural prices
Rank and file workers scatter in wonder of their fair slices

Customer consumer wanders across cost deserts
Assessed with burdens of camels and lizards
Reaper of payment on farmland now lie
Cotton's comeback for china to buy

Stilled weather disaster lies and waits
Conservation lands seek no gates
Stronger dollar rises to swell?
Political dabbles play hell

Onward for the seeker of choice
America starts with singular voice
Textile mills once the law of our land
Apparel maker over oceans cotton brand

Vivid evidence is seen in appetites
Debt's hold on equity signals blights
Cotton crosses oceans, returns as tights
Export-import wars where nobody fights

Long stressed farmers get new machinery
Operators and lenders like the scenery
Still cyclic whipsaws hold the land
Nomadic magic, american brand
