Ice Cream Aloha

The Desire

The remote upland forest stares across at the lime-green ocean that extends far beyond the horizons stretching to ...where? It allows Suzi to sense the reservoir of biological diversity; it rises into the cloud on the western shore, the river-laced coastal forest. It never blinks with its thousand-mile stare, as if wondering about Suzi in the work station, steeped in forest and mountain computation; theJungle, never a quick access to the hunter, theHuman hunter, the one with a veneer of morality (really?), exploding urbanities, devastating the rain forests of the world behind the mask of want. What a surprise it must have been, the day they had discovered this, the day they discovered theNature had endured its own jungle empty syndrome under stress(J.E.S.U.S.) computations for centuries only to emerge as a landscape of green silence. What could it have felt to have its own designs on value systems, its computations with varieties of objects and logics found waiting to be gathered, its extensibility, allowing itself to operate under its own power? Was it—really, now--a cave art to spin its own writings and drawings with its own built-in measures and marks, sensing its intertwining of theDNA, sensing the possibilities of treaties being broken with laws of the forest? This couldn't have been, Suzi wonders, the place where the hand of theHumans began. Here would have been crafted the first of the newest tools long before the computer, nature's finest moment, the opposable thumb—theDNA's expressiveness of single ideas and images, the original tool for writing and measuring; and yet, still the small tendrils remain, slender leaves with essential oils, resins. thin feathery leaves never cultivated, pleasantly scented in branched crowns. Are these the headwaters of desire?

Splashy Diversity

Aloha poets,
Diversity of splashy textures and cool tropical colors inspire today's
poetry. Enjoy!

Etched Detached

Forest survival is no clear cut stance
Cellulosic ethanol crashed the dance
Advice column steams out to a region
Anti-corn ethanol now back in season

Adventure calls animals to survival
Face-saving formula, death on arrival
Trajectories of fate on a treasury claim
For a miscalculation who's to blame?

Respond angrily is a sitting duck
Symbols of might try their luck
Erratic regimes light their matches
Children and comedy batten hatches

Brazil's black friday long seeks to avert
Economic zones in their diversity of hurt
Christmas comes knocking etched in stone
Fashionable sameness won't leave it alone

Strong talk of economy that's all we get
Mineral and fishing rights place a bet
Cyber monday arrives with its cookies
Right of passion survives looks to please

Square the support coupons on cellphones
Business of culture soups on in bell tones
Everything matters right down to diet
Economy rales at new tracks to try it

Use of remotes comes back to order
Flashpoint's tension out on the border
Unqualified squalor or a diversity ploy?
Promotes to entice for some girls and a boy

Overshadow earth as if demographics morph
Expected gestures plan south, then go north
International protectors steam to a hotspot
Rational projectors scream a sweet spot

Exchange of goods is our human way
Independent ideas drift in from the bay
Economy at large, the incumbent player
Etched detached, most silent of prayer

Holiday Blues

Aloha poets,
Morning hues of Hawaii thanksgiving holiday season inspire
today's poetry. Enjoy!

Foreseeable Feasible

Fundamental factors drive to the fancy ballrooms of correlation
Computers link to place a blind bet the dance happens again
Prediction of pattern exudes a novel behavior all its own
Self programming of the predictive now fully grown?

Diversification once fail safe enters extinction's path
Correlation versus causation battles without wrath
Energy enters throes as commodity with voice
Growth becomes the human story of choice

Brazil shows values of ethanol from sugar crop
Commodity producers or suppliers give stocks a pop
Algorithms self program to evolve to chase correlations
Ballroom dance, industrial metal's magnetic force coronation

Sugar crop as gasoline additive responds to a central bank whim
Global portfolios and money policy follow commodity vim
Computer money algorithm creates behavior in kind
People forces follow patterns behind the blind

Forces exert upon the strangest of targets
Algorithm trading programs markets
Money splashes upon asset wall
Recognition programs us all

Aluminum , copper rise with zinc
Fast food and shoes follow suit in ink
Buy and sell system models around math
Global money goes bullish amid easing wrath

Technology steps up new height in commodity price
Heathy global growth feeling so warm, fuzzy, and nice
Computers hope for persistence in linkages and such
Humans and other computers join hands in clutch

Correlations may be driven by whims or will
Computers technology lets basic factors sit still
Do we see diversification in its final death throes?
Feasible foreseeable diversity emerges as time goes
