Future Lures
Survival in its purest form pushes, pulls when it counts
Natural selection can be that instantaneous bounce
Future lures can only be imagined by a select few
To keep one last shred of dignity is a first clue
The captain of design really does run a loose ship
The return to Ithaca is the ignoring of loose lip
Abrupt scolds scald warm feelings frozen cold
Individual failings aggregate as family grow old
Hapless addicts as children's parents are lapless
Doubt drains the foreordained as the reckless
A capacious reservoir of knowledge drifts
The companionable give each other as gifts
Reason is never bruited from a bruin before attack
"Thank you" as a last minute shred of dignity is back
Exemplars of self-command join no underdog in retreat
Birthrights thrice find eager darlings at their feet
Reason and time link to tame a base instinct
Parenting and poverty shout from beyond precinct
Donald Duck v Donald Trump the new action hero
To lose all sense of self restraint ends up at zero
Microwave is the clearest cleanest channel in space
Lovers leap at desire all the while running human race
Willpower and willing is the jet fuel of souls
Add new law, software design, self-help and it goes
Atom, electron, photon streaming need a template
True creativity as design idea never comes late
Masters of self-command shield temptation as fate
Greed inflates debt on the shore while rough seas wait
Foreordained, for the record, is driven by consensus
A trust in tradition is the wages of common senses
Misty human delays vaporize amidst technology
