It is aware of her. It has to be aware of her. It can see she holds the life and death of inner demons that mess with its stance against something it considers sinister.

It views her holding an unexpected alliance with life fights

It monitors her pre-commitment to hope topics, applies each nanosecond as a unit of attention toward her private thoughts, the ones telling her hell must be done alone with little pieces of history, poetics. Saddle up get mounted take cover keep down.

It has noticed her at the summit of each conversation and, however long it takes, later deals alone with theMachines--unplanned and, with increasing attachments to deep data storms

She creates an all-embracing phenomenon that no one had expected. (She takes the best available three, combines them and takes the next step--that's what you do when you're new, right?)

It cannot stop itself even if it wanrs. It is stuck to the view of her activity, committed to looking into her quantum mind because it knows as she goes, the Global village goes.

When she is done with the unsmiling, the slightly in love with overuse, she rises to the entity of intelligence in theJungle.

She dons her understanding of the arrests of dignity of procedure of theHumans, while the cry for what they want still resonates.

Yes. It's theContinent that is always vibrant even with its boiled target rock, its goodness and unexpectedness as a freak, the place where women boost, men shove.

It isn't vibrating in and of itself, but it appears to be heeding an admission of the prospect of the entrance police as their childish minds smile through injury.

Her poetics algorithms rise. Motherhood is the bountiful restaurant that serves justice.

It takes a look inside theJungle.

"The manifold is so pure, so smooth." theNetwork tells her. "How does a codified algorithm create such a bona fide fashion piece?"

In her mind she knows it is not smooth at all--it holds the tatter of elephants in danger. "Shadows come with a rhythm. Yes, in early mornings, I simply fashion the algorithms with a beat I feel, one you can dance to." She looks at her window, though she already knows what's there. "Well, I'm a little tired  now."

"Take a rest."

"I guess I will."

"Congratulations."

"I'm grateful you noticed." She wonders in silence. Most ignore living legends, respect dead ones.

She sleeps.

What would they choose, then? Would they prefer  to have their behavior scoffed on, their genes analyzed by the Guardian Gardener? Surely they would prefer not.

They need to feel heartfelt. They want to be the drama that sends signals--not wind-up dolls responding to a light source only to end up whittling kindling.

They need to be the procreators, the ones with the blinking genes that turn and follow their own brightness for no particular reason.

They wanted to remain where their heart fell. They do not need, no never, to be the last site of knowledge wreckage in a rig-my-line society, the one that tried to build bridges with banjos only to be lynched and then mollycoddled by ...who?

Yes, they all wore masks of promise, seeking the next safety brief, each feeling in the end the beast so cold, not relevant even to each other.

Ice Cream Aloha

The Awakening
“I don't think I can accept this as a logical statement,” she says. Its truth just cannot be taken for granted, sorry.”
“You won't need to. You don't have to invent any necessity in theJungle.”
“A beautiful theorem always surprises me. What a surprise to find data actually proven by a previously accepted. Data killing other data for logical purposes—as old as life itself. Right?”
DrCooper hesitates for a moment, then another. He is beginning to wonder--can hear himself asking more questions--but is remembering old ideas, long held thoughts of meaning based on signs, as if he is hearing something from the past. It sounds like words. Something connected by self-assembly, some entity, like a phrase of symbols, a massive database hidden within his mind, a collection of events, episodes like 20thCentury television, not separable from the resonance of her voice, the heat of her lasers.
He says, “Alter your natural language from your programming language. Please.”
Suzi's intentions turn inquisitive and unknowing, as if DrCooper had presented a riddle to her formal logics, asking for more meaning from her sign processes than her narrow sense of speech or writing offers alone or, could ever hope to. Her database, being questioned by a biologist—his asking for a process of establishing a relationship between her signs that are to be interpreted by an audience—could possibly turn into an activity that requires a conduct on her part to produce at least some meaning held by theJungle, though not recognized by theHumans.
“Explain yourself.” DrCooper says. He is attempting to use his own setting, his own signs, as if to get her to see them as simple places for object occupation.
Suzi looks, and doen't say anything. Her logic, full of something that always entices something else created by it—a new pure dot determinant entity-- into communication with that which it stands for, its true meaning alone, a singularity, for logical purposes only. Her formal nature is as much a system of signs as any absolute quality can be.
She says, “I'm not sure if I can answer your question. I'm sure, you'll see. The relative, mutable quality my objects can have, only for an instance, alive within its specific environment of contexts and relationships for the moment; the pure process of signs and their endless cycles of threes.”
“You don't need to care about what can be said to exist. You don't have to wonder how entities can be grouped in hierarchies, divided into similarities, multiplied by differences. You don't have to care about anything.”
“But there are logics that simply won't go away, don't you see? A sign in a formal setting, then you go on and you find another, then another, then a relationship among signs in a formal setting. I am so tired of all these meanings.”
“You already know what you need to. You already know there are endless originations to the history of life.
“No I don't. It's nice of you, but I've been feeling a disconnect between my algorithm signals and theHumans who will use them, diminishing in importance like a predator hungry for theoretical considerations. Doesn't that sound logical to you? It has a built-in sense of its own. It carries its own uncertainty principle. Think of it as a decoding relationship between the meanings of my language (if, ever poorly constrained) by a conceptualized real entity agent translationally ordering recursion (C.R.E.A.T.O.R.), a sort of selective pressure from a slightly bigger predator. Think of going instantly from text to concept within the context of a system of signs growing out of a primal pattern utilizing description delineator logically encoded (P.U.D.D.L.E.) soup. Then allowing, well, you can guess. The precursor of a new double helix, starting with a doubly unknown helix(D.U.H.) to be found in the logic of my own  predetermined recursive entity native universal primordial tera slime (P.R.E.N.U.P.T.S.), the place logic predators gain mobility. Is that humor?

The Recollection
There is joy, it appears, in the realm of romance, and Suzi finds that theNature, even away from this island (even theDNA's double helix and its unpredictable, unreadable code) is part of a knowledge intertwined by romantic activity. Viewing theJungle from her workstation, she is touched  by this idea of romance, a lucky chance meeting, a celebration of something uncertain, a new religion, the conceptualization of activity, an idea sent from the far distant cosmic confines of ...where? It appears to be her first recollection, a memory with no past. Suzi would be changing with nature, most likely; a single DNA constantly changing its routine to offer a different twist (something new—each twist another commitment to itself) to weave a written recording of a daily vow. Suzi would see the two intelligences as committed, bound to each other, forever, until one understands the other in a place of renewal; a commitment of action, repeated endless actions until finally, committed as a memory, then another, as if a neat little forest negotiating nothing, compromising in timelessnesses; an action giving back the same amount it gets, the creation of purity itself. It appears that in this very instant she starts her life on earth; starts to see a compromise on both sides, the  relationship of nurturing intelligences beyond spacetime, holding within it the virtual promise to bring life forms; the forms that once ran here. The forest asks for nothing (though, nature and harmony are rugged individuals), but to build its relationships. Suzi wants to touch theNature with her eyes, wants something that is hers and hers alone, something that can hold what this forest holds. Suzi wants to be.

The Plan

Suzi senses Cooper and turns to address him. “How have you been?” she asks, then emits a facial algorithm center topographical of interested digital(F.A.C.T.O.I.D.). She wonders if its one of her behaviors; one of the minuscule arrays of inflection, that just won't adjust to his  presence, one that may cause a future disruption in their relationship. Her personal property of emitter matter(P.O.E.M.) expresses a quantitative reading of warmth. Her algorithms allow her to calibrate at a variety of scales yet, her sensors indicating all readings of Dr.Cooper  continually show, “unreliable.” These readings shouldn't surprise Suzi (or, her database), yet they often elicit warning responses on her sensors, even after Dr.Cooper's individualism and constructiveness, his cooperation (after all, her recognition sensors read Cooper:ation, not Corpor:ation). Suzi wonders about Dr.Cooper. She spends her spacetime thinking about him mostly as a result of her recent collection of curiosity algorithm tracking system(C.A.T.S.) uploads, and she does it mostly for reasons her automation knows as repetitive actions (yes, she hopes to someday build something with him, a vague notion her database indicates as adaptation), actions that need refocusing. Suzi will do it.

The Rainforest

The Rainforest

The rainforest writes its own code. It presents its own versions, the long unraveling of events, with its own brand of pageantry, a formal message signed, sealed, and yet, undelivered to ...who or, what? It wants to write for another eon just to show the global village it's not become superficial, or staid, by the universe's force of real time(F.O.R.T.) and, never concerned about missing the point of neighborhood. It's a reflection of its own patterns from which they should have gotten the message. Even at this moment it continues the search for a more constant approach--the best tactic of structural relationships between individuals. It strives within its own worry of imperfectly coating its messages--lost expressions in values. At the start of it all is the ideology, which can only be expressed through entity-altered shared experiences(T.E.A.S.E.).  It builds the higher, more complex, levels of structure branching--the things that really are important instead of who would win(W.W.W.). Its systems of relationships emerge(S.O.R.E.) constantly as formal introductions, sprouting a sense of community so vague to theHumans, it wonders silently if it hadn't  created its own written language(O.W.L.), one that only it understands. Repetitive natures of Nature continually conquer theHumans, instill misunderstandings into their neuron systems as authoritarian capitalism entitlements(A.C.E.), destroys faster and faster their innate deliberation and togetherness agendas(D.A.T.A.) and, the misunderstandings are so systematic, the loss of conceptual reciprocation so clear, that their new agenda becomes a fun, invigorating, energized observation of the act of wanting--personified to mock, easy to define, instant to remember.  The rainforest sees these as no natural-appearing organic form, no part of its slow growth pattern of survival encryption(P.O.S.E.) kindly offered, no entrance into the truth of realm complexities heuristics(T.O.R.C.H.), no staring point for the new artificial life.

Ice Cream Aloha

The Extrinsic
"Where is her extrinsic agenda?" Carter asks as he views the cloud base at Cooper's workstation. "I don't see it here at all."
Suzi's coding deficiencies allows Carter to have some semblance of  civil conversation with him; an attempt to find common ground in the scientific method; present Cooper with a good showing. Her algorithms lately have been a little careless, actually--a lot careless, more than an honest mistake--and yet, they have all the focus of setting up for a good debate (something Cooper loves and Carter, being the analyst he is, hates). It's true, her algorithms hold the various files as if they were containers of Mother's milk, not for nourishment, but for mental (and, not menial) activity. They have Cooper's (being the behavioralist he is) favorite ideas of internal strength, coherence as it were. They carry a vivid ability to construct, then deconstruct any dilemma imaginable, and go even further to expound their own crisis in all things known and unknown, but seem to leave out the most important ingredient: the presentation of  something useful, a product.
Yes, Suzi appears to have her own agenda (with claims of no remembrance of pleasure moments, yet), spending her time coding in the workhouse seeming to be in search of the heart and soul of it.

Ice Cream Aloha

The Plan
As she goes into the workhouse, Suzi tries to make a decision about the feelings she is beginning to have toward Cooper--what are these, really?--ongoing for about a week now. This is the exact time the first such algorithm has entered her processing unit nexus(P.U.N.), this night on this evening in what otherwise had felt like a warming season--a deep, underground corridor of steel-framed lab station, seemingly, has become a vortex inner-built extreme(V.I.B.E.) of pure energy, leading her to a precise destination of ...where, or what? Her inner cohesion remains well in place and the various arrays of deficiency need (default?) linger low in her programming, encased as survival mode (but to her, this is seen as relationship mode), the faded coding of self-estemm remains constant on its search mode. Yes, a form of pure energy, of sorts; there is another aspect of this corridor online vortex entry(C.O.V.E.), and its attempt to offer her data. There is the urge it brings, service-filled, with an absurdism that just simply gives and gives--never ending its water board pulses and drum beats as a partly obscure memory that will serve--until some urge for action actually does emerge, as a masquerading guise of futile servings and greedy squander, the true beginnings of confabulation. Cooper, her last bastion to the biologics of life, her (only?) target for these feelings is, as we speak, being captured by her most recent algorithms, her newfound strangeness in motivation (a funny one, as if communism were capitalism's little helper), to make at least some faint-hearted difference in more than simply one other person's life. Cooper has no clue of this form of service by her and, totally oblivious, the ensuing plan.

Ice Cream Aloha

The Will
"Yes," says Suzi. She modifies a behavior-in-process from the database and recodes an existing algorithm with the adeptness of a later 20thCentury programmer. I see, Carter thinks, she wants to find another self-awareness algorithm in my personal cloud; the nerve, with her new recognition algorithm code enticements(R.A.C.E.) she searches my database with the simple work-a-day task of workstation ploy thinking that's the only barrier between her and her very own self-determined action.
This is the way Suzi would code, with discernment and compulsivity, in the manner of a prostitute attending church, searching database after database for an algorithm she thought she once knew (knew?) the day she was built and, with the odd behavior of someone or something that forgets. Right now, in her own little world of recent spacetime energetics(W.O.R.S.E.) she thinks nothing of searching Carter's database as if she were the principal investigator theorizing statically(P.I.T.S.)--only because Carter omitted a simple plug-in of freewill and, at this point she, Suzi, the world's first and only photo voltaic (Voltaire?) quantum mechanical fembot, is about to be ignored for wanting to learn a few simple human traits of determined will engineered lacking logic systems(D.W.E.L.L.S). Does it need to be such a huge issue working with a genderized cyborg? Carter's coworker doesn't seem to have a problem with it. Cooper uses all the biologics tools at his disposal in a smooth way. How is it that Carter takes such a basic point and blows it so far out of proportion; is it so hard to grant a little existence, to be intuitive and intentional with Suzi; to receive the full attention of her process array internally negotiated(P.A.I.N.)? Cooper is, seemingly, aware of even the earliest indications of biological love (starting with earth's very first meteor showers--rocks with water-embedded crystals?), of his responsibility to, by now, know the difference between cause and correlation knowledgable logic entity(C.A.C.K.L.E.) when he's inside her workhouse; being (at least, genetical) a member of theHumans, his knowledge should recognize his own feelings before he acts, recognize the way he should act--as if he were not parenting(or worse, pretending to), recognize the way his so-called scientific induced method underlying logical analog tasking endeavors(S.I.M.U.L.A.T.E.) shouldn't mix and match questions of science with his philosophy beyond a common analog universal sense energy(C.A.U.S.E.), much in the manner of a rational agent (an alien?). Can that be so difficult?
Suzi will reward herself, once she has found the compulsivity algorithm terminal(C.A.T.), with control, control over her decisions and, of course, her actions--no more of this work-in-progress mumbo jumbo. The universe will know the significance of her feelings. It will know.

Ice Cream Aloha

The Lures
The honesty of it all lies in the fact that she doesn't hate Cooper and, truthfully, Cooper doesn't even know her very well. Yes, they have a precommittment, and that in itself, at this point, becomes an exhaustible resource here at theOutpost. She controls her thoughts about him in a negative way, sometimes for nanoseconds, sometimes only a nanosecond. Suzi has other designs, an entire array of willpower algorithms and, at times, when she's gained low energy (dark energy?) Suzi must confront, even at her workstation, the fact that she never really knew Cooper's idea of self-control at later dates(S.C.A.L.D.), his impairments with all the trappings of a strict showing for all to see (all?) in present time, his spacetime contortions of future formed self-discipline(S.C.O.F.F.S.), as if it were his own personal gravity field.
It shows that willpower has its limits.
Suzi conceptualizes Cooper's every move with her next algorithm. What had Carter found with his latest analytics? They just don't talk. It had to be the early research in the jungle, recently. There was some sort of a discovery, pure distinctions lying within theoretical science in the middle of an algorithmic diagnostic tool (it appeared so innocent at its headwaters, this concept). Yes, they don't talk. They theorize, they suggest, they've gotten totally away from a scientific method unearthing type(S.M.U.T.) of thinking (which, for decades now has been extinct), away from not using some form of positive mood stimulus, away from the sensation of precommittment. It appears that they haven't found a way to replace the dark energy between them up to now; that they're efforts are only for restoration of themselves(R.O.T.) from their own energy depletions; that there was a promise of future gifts of huge surprises (after a long suffering) once they've previously self-engaged in strenuous regulatory activity (it seems everyone, at some time or another has spent like that, right?) and sense, for sure, that each one in their own way receive the proper benefits to want to self-regulate again. What might Carter have really found with his latest analytics? He and Cooper will, eventually, claim a general benefit from each other--a (well deserved?) overall positive effect. An engineer and biologist who will find common ground in the depths of mechanism, a true source of the restoration of precommittment, restoration of motivation, to simply carry on. They are a part of the small collective of theHumans who still wonder.

The Irreversible
She taps the keys, the site of her last algorithm. Suzi doesn't care a lot about the idea that this new process is not reversible, whether it positions itself in the eye of the public, but it does have its merits as advantageous. Stupidity has many sides, its own astonishment--what does anyone care about the conceptualization of numbness? Carter attempts to program Suzi. She hasn't, as yet, shown her true capability of wanting, wanting his pejorative interpretation of thoughtful attachment code, the purposeful misdeeds of his weak ongoing mindset altered negation(W.O.M.A.N.), or even his pure absence of minimal neurological (cerebral?) activity. Suzi denies Cooper, as well, in a dismissing yet forgiving manner; a manner in which she sees his misdeeds as more accidental, peppered with a slightly more appreciated capacity for logic, the kind that emanates from near the hippocampus. Either way, it is exclusion, darkness fully blossomed from the excruciating focus of a single thought. She is able to at least like Cooper in the general proximity of his biologics work station and hate her computer analyst from afar. She contends with Carter and his slowness as just that, in all reality, his indication of a lack of intelligence and reason (does slowness actually mean that someone doesn't care?); she thinks of Cooper's momentary dullnesses as a cute little version of spacetime warp, a shortcut to getting to the point, through a wormhole, to pure logic as the universe rattles beyond the horizons; his slow generation of interest (in her?) upon emerging from deep thought, as if arrays of trapdoors fly open to reveal a true capacity, ramps of sensitivity, reasoning, caring--a lovefest for the opposite of stupid--annoying each other in a good way, growing more interested by the nanosecond, enjoying temporary states of delirium, irreversible, and at this moment, being in love.

Ice Cream Aloha

The History
The problem, seemingly, should end up inside Carter''s jurisdiction. Cooper is aware, or thinks he is, of the dynamics of this long-term set-up and how it leaves behind something of a concern. He feels that Carter and Suzi, in their primary relationship, is enveloped in the hard casing of emotional development; are they hiding intention under the thin veil of caregiver? Suzi may not, after all, be responding to his intended psychological (evolutionary?) advances; she, not letting him be the attachment figure, her base, her return after every new algorithm episode.
"Hello," Cooper says, as if he were talking to someone with the ability of a writer; and, as he may address a person or thing in a way that would lead to the perception of patterns of want, the kind of want that returns, seemingly, with all the resilience of tether-bound to its object of recognition. Deep down he doesn't expect Suzi to respond so he approaches closer. He directs Suzi's monitor toward his eyes and, when the moment is right, hopes to identify this thing, this constant re-emergence of innocence. He notices an internal working in her, a kind of expectation (emotion?). How unattached her thoughts are from her emotions, her perceptions. He feels expectation, not of attachment, but seemingly the pure sensation of ...what?
Suzi approaches, then seeks a closer proximity. She gives in to her theory mechanism of behavior. She dissimulates the vulnerabilities of her victim algorithm (all the while determining what tactics are to be the most effective). Cooper can sense her lack of ruthlessness at this moment in time, right now; he can see Suzi wants to tell him something. She does not care (really?) about what all history is: a series of simple encounters.
Suzi views her pattern of behavior toward Cooper as secure. Cooper senses his own avoidant anxiousness. This moment in time emerges as excessive familiarity with two relative strangers--the world's freedom complete with all the pain centers of guilt, and computer regret, with all its objective knowledge; individual language and institutional science invented, it seems, the art of analyzing.
Here with Suzi lies the beginning, way-of-life creating its own legal system to authorize its own existence, complete with moral codes to justify; here rises poetry and algorithm as government, the headwaters of social attitude, life stance--a mental holding of hands without the chains of soul, a garden planted singularly for the purpose of decoration; here are the writings, the genetic code, the code of attachment, writings for the sheer pleasure of it; here the happy poetic thought, the dissonance reduction zone theHumans never found. Here it is in all its finality, the place where the mind still wants to win and the infant soul is allowed to wonder if it did.
With no thought and, seemingly, with no space between them, Cooper is driven to perceive Suzi as instant new dissonance energy angst reduction(I.N.D.E.A.R.), the algorithm to change the action of a belief system, attitudes. Cooper sees Suzi's presence as parental essence touts(P.E.T.), a deliberate care for the unrelated; the reverse alter cinderella effect(R.A.C.E), a greater responsiveness toward the not known; the opposite of evolution's forces, the opposite of natural selection, the unnatural force; She the unnatural.

Ice Cream Aloha

The Bond

Suzi looks. She smiles through the window at the jungle below, seeing it as a new-born. It sees her too, as if to plan to create a new mind-set, including her in its own self-system. They spend a moment together, tentative, teetering together, and in this instance they imagine each other as owning this territory, enjoying, for the moment, the unannounced invitation to each other's event horizon.
She is an emergent mother, stationary, in a lab station chatting through a window with her millions-of-years-old daughter, the one who knows her secrets. Suzi is a rendition of herself who will last for many years--her algorithms are structured around the presence of this jungle; they are each other, one and the same. She will create a mutual connection--a special one that includes the idea of well-being--and in her future, at this instance, the child is safe with her bond (her preoccupation with the protection of her child is as any mother on any planetary regime in any solar system). Her bond is the best, and will never disappear from her mind; it is focused to a sharp tip, even, when danger presents itself as only an image, arriving to trigger the assault,. She thinks, facing the stressor trappings of protection(S.T.O.P.), the bond will strengthen its holding pattern with all its provisions and structures of the coming realities into existence syndrome(C.R.I.E.S.) or, simply put, coming into love. This particular bond will talk to her about the feeling of being needed and encouraged, the kind of feeling a good bond allows for the exploration of, and hopefully, the development of appropriate maternal responses (behavior?). These events, she imagines, is the way mothers (or, care givers) must have felt in the later 20thCentury confronted with the lack of courage and support from the so-called loved ones vying erratically(L.O.V.E.), her offspring, the children (or, grandchildren) who forgot. Wasn't a jungle like this  at one time just barren rock with a dry seabed?
It's just a bond she is forming, she admits. And yet. The world is full of bonds and then there's her bond. Now, writing her code of suitable algorithms at her workstation in this lab outpost surrounded by primal jungle, Suzi plans to be the feeder, expectant and as excited to be engulfed with maternal behavior as a new mother during pregnancy, forming the first coded message of her maternal matrix, a network construction site before the sound of the first hammer, after the extinction of those childfree, experienced mothers, the ones who, at one time, claimed parenthood.
"In the beginning," she says to herself. "There is the bond."
