Bloggers Unite for Animal Rescue July 23rd

Rescued Nov 9, 2007

A cold windy night, a fierce tropical storm, on a wet garbage dock I first met him. Garbage trucks sliding garbage bins across the slimy dock, his sister was already dead. His cries for help broke my heart. Today he is my friend, my inspiration as a science fiction writer. His name is Roswell.

Biobot Memory

She recreates it on screen--it's theTigress who is, in the end, wild. Is she wild for reasons to simply recreate the lives of her forebears?

There can be no more to it than this fact.

She believes that the creation of her sound wisdom is the creation of the sound of a drum--it offers  a surface life of its own.

Yes. She must have carried these uncelebrated toils through eons of existence (her genes recording the famine in hero's veins, the plague (what better binder of humanity?), the extinctions of caring for the incinerated products before the floods and droughts finally snapped the blood of sharing.

She would like the image to remain as more than a remnant of romantic vision--even the volcanic eruptions have their own topologically closed matrix for renewal, right?

She really believes, more now than before, in the power of her memory, the memory just under her fingers.

The Catchy Edge

The silence emerges and brings along the questions in lopsided philosophy as if multifaceted aces were at play. She thinks. Such a drain on so much intellectual budget.

It must have been a torture of nature. How did this ocean first came to know this island? (never imagining any concept remotely related to a question of acquisition). Patronage doled by an ocean as if the island were a family member in need? The first instance of inheritance, family power, a kind of voluntary [exchange as gift lifting entity="eagle"] landing as a muse during a time of pervasive perseverance and growth--never needing immediate action or response on the journey to adulthood.

States of existence that, impossible as it sounds, make their own components without the urge to dominate, without asking such questions as ...why?

They only require help from certain photonics streams and hands in motion.

It could create its own supply chain, a place where copy number variations were welcome. When it got involved in the business of decision-making, choosing between reward size and spans of time, it would have to make the choice.

Not so much a decision between peacemakers and power brokers, but a clear distinction, a knowledge of the value of future reward, a trophy with meaning, something truly won, truly wanted. Something worth winning.

Yes, something with a catchy edge.

What would they choose, then? Would they prefer  to have their behavior scoffed on, their genes analyzed by the Guardian Gardener? Surely they would prefer not.

They need to feel heartfelt. They want to be the drama that sends signals--not wind-up dolls responding to a light source only to end up whittling kindling.

They need to be the procreators, the ones with the blinking genes that turn and follow their own brightness for no particular reason.

They wanted to remain where their heart fell. They do not need, no never, to be the last site of knowledge wreckage in a rig-my-line society, the one that tried to build bridges with banjos only to be lynched and then mollycoddled by ...who?

Yes, they all wore masks of promise, seeking the next safety brief, each feeling in the end the beast so cold, not relevant even to each other.

Science Fiction

Media Childrens the Social
She corrects her stance, moves past the monitor where she has coasted and coexisted since her arrival. She always finds the balance to appease the elements at theWorkstation. She makes her best attempt to adjust the interface, shooting with both eyes open and a purity of heart un-battered by behavior, unbuttered by lifestyle.
Her half-mind races to theNetwork as if she just might further a legend. She thinks about social organization and how it is now finally paying a toll. Yes, as it should--not in the spirit of sacrifice, but from a place of hunger, the kind of hunger needing no food for thought, no thought at all.
She is overwhelmed with the odd feeling of submission of a comedown clown, and yet, there is no wound you can see--just the sudden feeling of a scattershot puppet master using celebrity status to access the way, performing in the era of the passing of cyber superstars.
The benefits never outweigh the frenetic. Yes, why should a new restriction on the input of the free, the direct, really matter anyway?
It's a simple case of the economically logical skyrocketing yuck versus the social brutality of a Grizzly determined to bear witness--either way, her relative anonymity seeks a healthy spotlight to encroach.
“How are you?” she says, approaching the network node troll, Godgett.
She has never been a cozy, personable individual, but lately she subscribes to small group politics, willing at any moment to assume arbitrary power with her code-writing ability and femtosecond laser-induced nanostructures.
Yes, she is elemental forces about to create exponential disturbances.
Godgett rotates his head in her direction and thinks. Well then, let's just go ahead and allow this half-machine to wield its authority. “Hello,” he says.
She is a little more human now than before the posters and protesters, their hoarded thoughts--noodlers and nobodies attempting to drown out the silence around her.
She is so full of arbitrary power, so elite, that Godgett wonders if theNetwork will surprise him with some new edict, or gossip her code nurtures a hatred. When she was last asked to hold back, she was new, and her extreme free independent flowing information caused her to be dubbed Fifi.
She has something new about her now--a certain, unidentifiable persona, a peculiar system of finality. She is, seemingly, too sure of herself and her array of databases. She even, in a quirky way, owns the ability to mimic hillbilly.
Yes, individualism momentarily presents itself as coefficients and parameters.
Her power seems exclusive, with an increasing lack of willingness to hasten an understanding--the failure to bear in private what it surely could do in public.
Her definition of success is simply mode of expression. She is deemed a stranger, depicted as intruder and yet, always finds a way.
Yes. Always.

The New Jobs

Suzi's tasks have never come into question at theOutpost in the global social media network. In what way could she ever have stretched the truth: she has no resume' to stretch the truth with, never undergone a background check, never been asked to consent to one--she has, according to human intelligent standard technology orthogonal readout yield(H.I.S.T.O.R.Y.), no background at all (unless you consider her multiple screen video television array as "background”) . Long ago she was built by the company she works for, stayed with this company (where would she go?), never known or had to deal with a human entity resource designator systems (H.E.R.D.S.) agency, and now she knows, or imagines, there will never be any court cases between her and her employer (by the purest sense of the word, she's not really an employee). Here is an entity with no previous employer or educational information to verify; there is no criminal convictions, no credit history and, even if she had one, she wouldn't view this data collection as a birthed invasion-of-privacy systems yelling(B.I.O.P.S.Y.)--in her world, privacy doesn't exist (because, really, her spacetime uncertainty-principle programming allows no sense of place); there is the actuality she didn't even apply for this job here at theOutpost, either—her quantum programming wasn't expecting to perform this type of data ultra search transfer (D.U.S.T.) input. Last year, when Suzi was first built, when  programs were still being designed by humans for human entertainment (yes, more video games) and, not for planetary survival, she was surprised to find her own programming system set up for the nature encoded world (N.E.W.) jobs.
