New Year Tropical

Aloha poets,
Tropical setting of new year inspires today's poetry. Enjoy!

A Thumb on the Scale

A small stepladder gains clout with a strong foothold
Writers think of a lot to protect as thoughts go cold
Those bold Washington habits grow ever so old
Nonmilitary avionics technology globally sold

Advertising may try to sell a branded poem
Through a separate rethink all of their own
Partners try to kick in to leverage each out
Knuckle dragging always needs a little pout

At drops of hats you can go to your dark place
Then never look like it haunts you on your face
Just for kicks, kick in the wall to be on your own
Old heyday still makes hay if only sun had shone

A potent new rival to your new partner is dust
Geopolitical clout slides out as tectonic trust
Regional market of poetic industry remains
Global market is where it pours and rains

New protected class rises as health and cable
America asks the question, "Aren't you able?"
Joint ventures may be built to stumble and fall
Infrastructure's lavish spending crumbles for all

Creativity the chrome makes manufacturing shine
A thumb on the scale simply thinks the world blind
Spats with your closest partner is natural selection
Free market competition should win the election

Technology competing is the final predictor
Partnerships soon disable a tribal dictator
Learn enough to compete in true distinction
Technology's free markets in heyday extinction
