Sailing the Beach

aloha poets,
Sailing the beach inspires today's poem.  Enjoy!

Containment Effort Paves the Way,  Contaminated Trailers
Find a Home...

FormaldeHyde Park

Bring us together, workers, children, and wives
Boat yards, open fields, mobile home park arrives
Never to be used because of housing health risk
Buyer remorse? Sellers whisper tsk tsk

Got started down our own infamy road
Travel far in our 'new car smell' abode
As the lack of landmarks rise to dizzying heights
FormaldeHyde Park hooks up its lights

Employed in venice harbor and on Grande Isle
New trailers deployed on a handshake and a smile
A little problem breathing and some burning eyes
The devil is in the detail where formaldehydes rise

Ventilate a window, move over a chair
Stick your head out into cool Gulf night air
Cheap wood will dissipate chemicals they say
Cool wind will come off Gulf of Mexico Bay

Take another breath, wipe an eye, clear your throat
Take the helm in the daytime of a big skimmer boat
Not bothered by much except for that one fume
Consumer Protection finds me alone in my room
