Tropical Colors

aloha poets,
tropical color inspires today's poem. Enjoy!

The Fledgeling Poet's Companion

Attached to some kind of Mothership you've seen in your eyes
In fizzy spirals and tiny bubbles of thoughts above,  you rise
Eddy through clouds in search of new wilder water spout
Laughed at for years you can't take anymore want out

You try a new title asking yourself whoever knows
Like "Pocahontas and Pinocchio in the Poconos"
No matter what you say you guess the fix is in
Between local yokel judges and Gunga Din

You've heard that talk of culture wars
In silence the majority always bores
Facing the public tightens the grip
Your search stays on for the hip

Parsed words are far and few
Hope fades what they knew
Line of fire is what you do
Your own disparate view

Time for pen on paper
Chimes a grim reaper
Hold a world at bay
What it is you say

News of today
You choose
To say oK
To play!
